Bluebeard the main character in this amazing story. He was a big, fat ugly brute of a and terrible wicked but was also very rich, had a palace in the city a castle in the country gold and silver tableware. It is said that he was much desired as a suitable husband for young ladies interested in acquiring wealth. However, many people were afraid of him because of his terrifying blue beard and his thunderous voice. 

The watercolor illustrations are simply fantastic, there is no mention of who the artist is. The story is told in an interesting mix of paragraph prose narration and script format dialog...something certainly worth keeping in your collections.

The book is used but in very good condition.
